RESUME OF INCIDENT:
On 7/26/18 at approximately 7:55 PM the El Cajon Police Department was called reference a stabbing at Second St and E. Madison Ave. Witnesses advised the victim, a 75 year old male, was on the ground near the intersection and the suspect was fleeing westbound on E. Madison Ave. Witnesses were able to keep the suspect under observation and advise the police department of his current location. Officers arrived and located the suspect, Lester Riley of El Cajon, in the 1200 block of E Madison Ave still in possession of the knife. The suspect refused officer’s commands to drop the knife, and was taken into custody with the use of less lethal bean bag rounds and an electronic control device (Taser).
The victim was transported by ambulance to the hospital with multiple non-life threatening stab wounds. The suspect, Lester Riley, will be booked into San Diego Central Detention Facility for 245 P.C. assault with a deadly weapon. The relationship between the suspect and victim is not known and the investigation is ongoing. No other suspects are outstanding.
