TYPE OF INCIDENT: Robbery and Car-jackings in El Cajon
DATE OCCURRED: 11/13/19
LOCATION OF OCCURRENCE: El Cajon, CA
RESUME OF INCIDENT:
Between the hours of approximately 5:00am and 6:00am there was a series of street robberies and car-jackings that may be related. The locations of the incidents included the 1000 block of Naranca, the intersection of Lexington and Gina, 900 block of Grant, and the 300 block of Filbert.
The suspects in each of these incidents are described as 4-5 males in their late teens and early 20’s wearing masks over their faces. The males were armed with what were described as handguns and long-guns.
During one of these incidents, a man standing on the sidewalk was robbed at gunpoint for his backpack. This man was not injured.
In another incident, a man and woman walked out to their car parked in front of their home and found one of the suspects inside. During a struggle with the suspect, the man was struck with a gun, causing minor injuries. The woman then clung to her vehicle as the suspect attempted to drive away. The woman was dragged a short distance, causing minor injuries. The suspect left the vehicle and fled the scene. The man was treated and released at the scene and the woman was transported to a local hospital with minor, non-life-threatening injuries.
The vehicles taken are described as passenger vehicles.
