Homicide Update

DATE AND TIME OCCURRED:  03/16/20 @ 2157 hours.

LOCATION OF OCCURRENCE:  E. Main and First St.

SUSPECT DESCRIPTION:  N/A

 

RESUME OF INCIDENT: This is an update to an earlier press release. The victim in last night’s shooting homicide has been identified as 41 year old Tony Montates of San Diego. Montates is believed to be homeless. The victim was observed by witnesses earlier in the evening. He was described as being agitated and confrontational with people in the area. The motive in this case is unknown. It appears the victim was standing near the southwest corner of the intersection of E. Main St. and First St. when a four door sedan approached the victim. The vehicle was traveling east on Main. It is believed someone in the car fired at least one shot and struck the victim at least one time. The suspect vehicle was last seen traveling south on First. No further details about the suspect or the vehicle are available at this time.
