The City of El Cajon is Getting Social

Communication is the "imparting or exchanging of information or news.” Communicating through social media sites has increased dramatically over the past few years.

The City of El Cajon currently relies on five social media platforms to communicate with its residents, businesses, and visitors:  Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, and Nixle.

In an effort to increase its communication, the City strives to grow its social media presence by posting more frequently, increasing followers, and engaging the public.

Increasing Posts – in addition to routine City news, the City uses social media to document exciting and important projects such as constructing the new Animal Shelter, renovating Wells Park, completion of development projects, etc.

Increasing Followers – the City encourages its social media savvy residents to follow us and share our posts to showcase the amazing progress occurring in our community.

Engaging the Public – the City seeks ways to increase engagement on social media.  For example, at the upcoming Hauntfest event, the City is hosting a photo posting contest for those that hashtag photos with #ECHauntfest17. More details to follow as the event gets closer...
