Investing in Our Community
Since 2017, the City of El Cajon has invested over $250,000 in direct services to help people currently experiencing homelessness. This figure does not include the funds and staff hours addressing the impacts of homelessness on the community.
Improving Conditions on the Streets
City personnel coordinates closely with partner agencies, including the East County Homeless Task Force, Crisis House, East County Transitional Living Center, and the San Diego Regional Task Force on Homelessness. The City also works with property owners to address and clean up any conditions whenever and wherever they may occur, consistent with the requirements of local law. Since fall 2018, the City and volunteer groups have removed over 112 tons of trash from the streets. The City has and will continue to support the efforts of many other non-profit partners and volunteer groups throughout the community.
