City government can be very complex and the City Council has an increasing need for background information on issues facing the City. Due to the time constraints of regular City Council meetings, there is little opportunity for background information to be presented and informal discussion to take place. These advisory meetings were developed to provide an opportunity to obtain additional information from various resource persons and to exchange ideas. No decisions are reached and no votes are taken at these meetings.
Because these advisory meetings are for informational purposes only, discussions are limited to items described in the special meeting notice. An opportunity for members of the public to directly address the City Council concerning any item described in the notice shall be provided before or during consideration of that item.
Advisory meetings shall be held, as needed, at 1:30 p.m. in the City Council Conference Room, except as another time or place may be appointed by the Mayor or Mayor Pro Tempore.
