Welcome to the Parks & Recreation Dept

We want to welcome you to our Parks & Recreation Department webpage.  With recent public health directive by the County of San Diego, parking lots at City Parks will be open on a limited basis.  All recreation centers are closed with the exception that bathrooms are accessible 7:00 am-7:00 pm, everyday at Bostonia, Hillside, Kennedy and Renette Recreation Centers.  Most park bathrooms remain open and parks remain open for passive recreation.  For more information please link to the COVID-19 information on the left frame of this screen.

Beyond our parks and recreation services, the El Cajon City Council approved the National Recreation & Park Association grant funded El Cajon 2030: Connecting People with Parks plan.  The goal is to create a 10-minute walk to a city park for every resident from their home.  For information about our newly created virtual recreation and more, please see links below.
